VP Human Resources – Nick Henderson

Nick Henderson

Degree and Year: Bachelor of Commerce, Marketing – John Molson School of Business Graduate

Experience: I am the only OC member from Jeux du Commerce (JDC), and I was the Injured Reserve for the volleyball team in 2009, Volunteer at JDC 2010 (volunteer of the year), and Ambassador at JDC 2011. I participated in the REFAEC team for JDCC 2010 as Social, as well as other competitions such as Happening Marketing 2009 and HR Symposium 2010 on the Wallyball team. I was also VP Events of the Commerce and Administration Students’ Association (CASA) at JMSB, as well as the Executive VP for the John Molson Competition Committee (JMCC).

How’d you get here? I was apart of CASA when REFAEC sent a delegation to JDCC 2010 (McGill, JMSB, HEC, Laval, Ottawa) and we had a blast. Most of us were part of student associations and so we knew a lot of faces and JDCC, especially from Legendary Conferences like Roundtable and ECLR 2009! After participating in 3 JDCs and 1 JDCC, I really wanted the spirit and the passion of JDC to carry-over, and capture as many students in Ontario as possible, and this was my way to give back. We are all best friends, we are all best friends. No words have ever been truer.

Responsibilities for JDCC 2012: I am responsible for coordinating all of the volunteers in all aspects of JDCC. Whether they are at sports, debate, academics, or even at the meals, I have all my volunteers at their spots to ensure that JDCC runs smoothly. I am creating a mini family within a family, the volunteers will become best friends, and will work together all weekend long in order to fully experience JDCC.

What is your favorite Disney movie? 101 Dalmatians OBVIOUSLY. Maybe it’s the fact that when I was younger, my comforter and my wall paper was plastered with Dalmatians. Or maybe because I had an unhealthy obsession with stuffed animal dogs, or even that I memorized the entire movie, word for word, when I was 8. But who knows, maybe I’m just crazy. That movie is hands down, the best movie ever.
