VP Sport – Ahmad Musa

Ahmad Musa

Year: Bachelor of International Business, Finance Investment and Banking: Graduated Fall 2011

Experience: Two time member of Sprott School of Busniess JDCC Sports Team
Nepean Hotspurs Soccer Club Coach ages 7-1
Volleyball and soccer referee ages 8-13
Avid athlete since the tender age of 11 months—started with kicking pennies as soccer training

How I got here: Originally a two time member of the Sprott JDCC Sports team. Unfortunately, couldn’t compete anymore because I graduated, but still wanted to be involved with the event. Once I heard that Carleton would be hosting the 2012 event, I knew right away I wanted to be involved in JDCC and JDCC Sports, and what better way than being on the OC.

Responsibilities: As the VP Sport, my responsibilities all centre on the organization and running of the Sports competition at JDCC 2012. I am responsible for finding referees for the competition, creating the schedule, setting the rules and expectations for each sport in the competition, and making sure the venue and required equipment are all set up and ready prior to the competition. Moreover, I am responsible for overlooking the referees, players, and scorekeepers during the competition. In addition, I am always available as a resource for team captains with any questions.

Favourite Disney Movie: It’s a tie for me between The Lion King and Aladdin. First of all, both movies had a great monkey role in them, in Rafiki and Abu respectively. More important, both movies are laugh out loud funny, and have produced 2 amazing songs in “A Whole New World” and “Hakuna Matata.” I will admit though, Aladdin holds special meaning to me because I look just like him!
